Tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States have sharply escalated following the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a joint US-Israeli airstrike. Iranian authorities have warned of a severe response, raising fears of a wider regional war.
Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, announced that the most intense and aggressive operation in the country’s history could begin at any moment. Officials said attacks may target Israel — described as “occupied territory” — as well as American military bases in the region. Iran has already placed its armed forces on high alert.
In an official statement, the Iranian government called the killing a “great crime” and vowed revenge, saying the incident would mark a turning point in Islamic world history. Meanwhile, the powerful Supreme National Security Council warned that the attack could spark a wider uprising against Western powers and strengthen resistance among Iran’s allies.
Analysts warn that the long-running “shadow war” between Iran and Israel now risks turning into a full-scale conflict. US forces across the Middle East have also been placed on heightened alert amid direct threats to American bases.
