Nepal’s Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has pledged that the upcoming House of Representatives election on Falgun 21 will be conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner across the country. Speaking during a visit to Bajura District on Sunday, he said ensuring a credible election is the government’s top responsibility.
Addressing an all-party and security coordination meeting at the District Administration Office, Aryal emphasized that the government is working independently without influence from any political party. He assured that security agencies would remain neutral and protect citizens’ democratic rights.
The minister warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to intimidate voters, disrupt the election, or engage in unlawful activities. Referring to past violence in Bajura — including deadly clashes during the 2022 election — he urged all stakeholders to act responsibly to prevent similar incidents.
Chief District Officer Dorendra Niraula said the overall security situation in the district is currently normal, but that enhanced measures have been implemented. Security personnel deployment plans have been prepared based on the sensitivity of each polling station, with close coordination among all four security agencies.
Senior officials, including Dan Bahadur Karki and Raju Aryal, along with political leaders and administrators, attended the meeting.
