Several high-ranking Iranian leaders and military officials have reportedly been killed in joint strikes carried out by the United States and Israel, according to intelligence and military sources cited by CBS News.
Sources claim that at least 40 Iranian officials died in the attacks. Among those reportedly killed are Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammad Pakpour, senior security adviser Ali Shamkhani, Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, and Chief of Staff Abdolrahim Mousavi.
According to BBC Urdu, an Israeli military spokesperson also claimed that 40 senior commanders, including Khamenei, had been “eliminated” in the operation.
However, independent confirmation of all the reported deaths has not yet been fully established. The tensions in the region have greatly increased due to the strikes, and people are now worried about the possibility of large-scale retaliation and an extended confrontation throughout the Middle East.
